The beverage selection is just as thoughtful, featuring signature drinks, aromatic coffees, refreshing iced coffees, herbal teas, zesty lemonades, and energizing smoothies.

Mecca Oasis ensures every bite and sip is an opportunity to savor excellence, all at prices that leave guests feeling both satisfied and valued.

Mecca Oasis prides itself on being a space for all, every individual is invited to embrace authenticity and feel at home. This inclusivity is part of the ethos that makes Mecca Oasis stand out—it is a space that celebrates diversity and fosters connection. By nurturing relationships between people, cultures, and even one’s own self, the brunch spot transforms every visit into a meaningful experience.

The belief that life’s richest moments stem from connection is deeply ingrained in everything they do.

Unlike traditional dining establishments, Mecca Oasis embraces a walk-in-only policy, eliminating the stress of reservations. This approach mirrors their laid-back philosophy: spontaneity and presence over rigidity and planning. Whether arriving solo for a moment of introspection or with friends to share meaningful conversations over fresh, delicious meals, the vibe remains welcoming and unpretentious.

In a world that often demands so much, Mecca Oasis offers the perfect antidote—a place where the pace slows, the flavors soothe, and the spirit is restored.

On our first visit to Mecca Oasis, we were treated to an experience that was nothing short of magical. The menu items we tried left an indelible impression, and it’s safe to say this charming brunch spot has quickly climbed to the top of our must-visit list in Rotterdam.

We ordered the Hummus & Eggs and Pita Sabich and got ourselves their signature Dirty Kashmiri Chai.

Our first bite into the Hummus & Eggs was a revelation. The dish features two perfectly fried eggs atop a bed of creamy hummus, generously seasoned with zaatar, dukkah, and sumac. The sourdough pita that accompanies the plate is soft, warm, and the perfect vessel for scooping up every last bit. The medley of flavors is truly remarkable—the earthy zaatar and nutty dukkah elevate the dish, while the sumac adds a delightful tang. This isn’t just food; it’s art on a plate. Every element feels thoughtfully curated to create a harmonious balance of texture and taste. They’re very generous with their olive oil too!

For me, this dish earns a well-deserved 9.5/10.

Next up was the Pita Sabich. Can one fall in love with a sandwich? Yes. Let me just say, this sandwich is a masterpiece. It features a sourdough pita filled with yogurt-tahini, fried eggplant, boiled egg, pickles, fresh salad, amba (a tangy mango pickle condiment), and zhoug (a spicy cilantro sauce). Each bite was bursting with bold, contrasting flavors that somehow worked together seamlessly. The creaminess of the yogurt-tahini played beautifully against the smoky eggplant and tangy pickles, while the zhoug provided a satisfying kick.

I found myself unwilling to share a single bite of this culinary marvel—an unequivocal 10/10.

Along with our meal, we sipped on their signature Dirty Kashmiri Chai. This inventive drink combines the traditional flavors of Kashmiri chai with the boldness of a shot of espresso. The result is a rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced beverage that felt both indulgent and energizing.

The rosy undertones of the chai paired wonderfully with the coffee’s robust depth, making for a unique drink that’s bound to become a fan favorite. It’s a 9.5/10 from me!

Our first visit to Mecca Oasis left us wanting more, so naturally, we had to return to explore more of their delightful menu. With each visit, this brunch spot continues to prove why it’s a standout gem in Rotterdam. Here’s how round two went:

This time, we opted for the Labneh & Eggs, a dish featuring two perfectly fried eggs served with creamy labneh, spiced butter, zaatar, pomegranate, sumac, and sourdough pita. The labneh was unbelievably fresh and velvety, striking a perfect balance with the richness of the spiced butter and the tangy bursts of pomegranate. The pita tied it all together beautifully, offering just the right amount of chewiness to soak up the flavors.

This dish, much like the Hummus & Eggs, earns an impressive 9.5/10 for its fresh, vibrant, and satisfying flavor profile.

We also couldn’t resist revisiting two of our favorite items from the last visit—the iconic Pita Sabich and the Dirty Kashmiri Chai. The sabich continues to be a showstopper, packed with layers of flavor and texture that never fail to amaze. It firmly holds its 10/10 status as an unbeatable sandwich that feels like pure joy in every bite.

Similarly, the Dirty Kashmiri Chai retains its 9.5/10 rating, with its unique blend of traditional chai and espresso still standing out as a brilliant creation.

To mix things up, we tried the Sesame Matcha Latte this time around. This drink turned out to be a delightful surprise. The earthy matcha was enhanced by the nuttiness of the sesame, creating a rich and slightly savory undertone that set it apart from the usual matcha lattes. It was smooth, comforting, and offered a unique flavor twist that we thoroughly enjoyed. A solid 9/10 for this innovative beverage.

Even after indulging in Mecca Oasis’s savory offerings, the allure of their sweet baked goods were impossible to resist.

With a partly open kitchen, it’s a treat to watch the bakers craft their creations, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the artistry that goes into each pastry.

Here’s our take on the sweets we tried, all of which added another layer of love to our Mecca experience.

As a fan of madeleines, the Pistachio Madeleine was a delightful surprise. These petite, shell-shaped cakes had the perfect balance of soft texture and buttery richness, enhanced by the earthy nuttiness of pistachio. Each bite was light yet packed with flavor, making it impossible to eat just one.

These madeleines were an absolute hit and a standout favorite from the sweet lineup. I’d give it a 9/10!

The White Babka, a recurring feature on Mecca Oasis’s menu, was next on our list. This version includes white chocolate, tahini, and pistachio—a combination that proved to be as indulgent as it was inventive. The babka was soft, pillowy, and perfectly swirled, with the flavors of creamy white chocolate and nutty tahini complementing each other beautifully. The pistachios added a delightful crunch, tying the whole pastry together. The open kitchen made it even more special, as watching the dough transform into this masterpiece left us inspired and tempted to try baking one ourselves. I’d give it a 9/10!

Finally, we sampled the Tahini Brownie, which featured a blend of rich chocolate, tahini, and halva. This decadent treat struck the perfect balance between dense and fudgy, with the tahini and halva adding layers of complexity to the classic chocolate flavor. It was indulgent without being overly sweet, and the sesame notes lent a subtle savory twist that made this brownie uniquely memorable. I’d give it a 8/10!

While every baked good we tried was delightful, the Pistachio Madeleine and White Babka emerged as personal favorites, each offering a unique yet comforting flavor experience. The rotating selection of seasonal baked goods ensures there’s always something new to try, and the standard babka options—both white and dark—make repeat visits all the more tempting.

We have visited Mecca Oasis countless times already, and it never disappoints. They consistently deliver exceptional food, and the quality remains unwavering with every visit. The service is always warm and pleasant, creating an inviting atmosphere that keeps us coming back for more.

Mecca Oasis has truly become a standout spot for us in Rotterdam, combining exceptional food, inventive drinks, and a welcoming ambiance that feels like a home away from home. Whether it’s the fresh and flavorful savory dishes, the irresistible sweet baked goods, or the warm and friendly service, every visit feels like a treat. Their consistency and dedication to quality make them a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable brunch experience.
