Founded by Heather in 2015 and established in its current location in 2016, Brittons has gained a loyal following for its high-quality, handcrafted American and Canadian-inspired pastries and treats. Heather, the founder of Brittons Bakery, blends her Canadian roots, New York birth, and Amsterdam upbringing into every treat she bakes. Though she initially studied fashion and even launched her own clothing line, Heather soon realized that her true passion was baking—a love that began in childhood, surrounded by the homemade North American treats her family always had on hand.
When Heather started Brittons, she saw a gap in Amsterdam’s food scene for rich, nostalgic bakes like the perfect brownie or classic carrot cake. She wanted to bring the comforting flavors she grew up with to Amsterdam. Each treat she creates at Brittons is infused with this sense of nostalgia and warmth, giving locals a taste of home-baked North American tradition. Today, Brittons Bakery is her way of sharing those special moments, one delicious bite at a time.

Organic, free-range eggs are sourced from the MiniRondeel care farm in Muiden, ensuring that every baked good is as ethical as it is delicious. In 2018, Brittons began making their own vanilla extract, using Madagascar-Bourbon vanilla beans from Vanilla Venture, a premium choice that adds a rich, aromatic depth to every bite.
